Painted Forest Verification Update to Interested Stakeholders

Dear Interested Stakeholders,

We would like to share an update on the progress of the Painted Forest Carbon (VCS ID 3812) following the completion of the most recent monitoring period (2023 to 2025).

Over the past three years, the Project has continued to work toward its goals of protecting forest areas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and delivering additional environmental and social benefits. Key activities and milestones during this monitoring period include:

• Cessation of commercial harvest activities as of the land acquisition date

• Implementation of a permanent forest plot network in 2022

• Development of an enhanced forest resource inventory using LiDAR and satellite imagery

During this monitoring period, the Project has achieved the following key outcomes:

• Forest area protected: 60,035 ha

• The total net GHG emission reductions and removals: 389,507 tCO2e

• Additional co-benefits achieved include a higher degree of riparian zone protection, reduction in loss of productive land, enhanced protection of endangered or threatened species including a voluntary 500 meter no harvest buffer on identified species at risk habitat, and overall enhanced protection and quality of habitat and biodiversity as a result of harvesting activities not taking place on the land base.

For the 2023–2025 verification, the Project Proponent engaged ClimeCo to provide technical support and assistance throughout the monitoring and verification process. The Project is currently being audited by Preferred by Nature, an independent validation and verification body.

Once Verra completes its technical review, a copy of the finalized monitoring report will be made publicly available on the Project’s Registry webpage: https://registry.verra.org/app/projectDetail/VCS/3812

Looking ahead, operational plans include re-measurement of the permanent plots in 2026. In addition, the Project’s baseline will be re-evaluated at least every ten years to ensure continued accuracy and transparency.

We value open communication and transparency with all interested stakeholders. We therefore welcome any questions, comments, concerns, or feedback regarding the Project and its activities, and remain available for further discussion.

Thank you for your continued interest in the Project.
